Police investigating 3 weekend Manchester robberies

MANCHESTER — Police are investigating three weekend store robberies, one early Saturday and two Sunday morning.

Police responded to the 7-Eleven at 557 Maple St. at about 1:50 a.m. Saturday, for an attempted robbery. The clerk said a woman holding a bottle of bleach approached and threatened to throw the bleach in the clerk’s face if he did not give her money.

The clerk told police that as he handed cash to the woman, he grabbed the bleach bottle from her hand, after which she left the store without any money and without the bottle, which is now evidence.

The woman is described as white, in her 40s, about five-foot-two, 160 pounds, brown hair with gray streaks. She was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt with a blue flower design and blue jeans.

In the first of two Sunday robberies, Manchester police responded to the 7-Eleven at 117 Queen City Ave. just before 4 a.m. The clerk said a man with a handgun entered the store and demanded cash. The robber left with some money, Marlboro Red and Newport cigarettes, and an assortment of Little Debbie snacks.

The robber is described as a light-skinned black male, 20s, five-foot-three to five-foot-eight, and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black ball cap, black T-shirt over a long-sleeved gray shirt, black pants, and a light blue bandana with a white paisley design over his face. He carried a black handgun.

Just before 6:30 a.m., Officer Adam Beland responded to his second robbery of the morning, at the Shell Station on Eddy Road. The clerks said the robber entered the store, pointing a handgun at them and demanding cash. As the robber waited for the cash, a customer entered the store and the robber approached her, pushing her back out of the store.

The robber then turned his attention back to the clerk. The clerk removed cash from the register and gave it to the robber, who then left the store, riding off on a maroon sports bike, heading south on Interstate 293.

The robber was described as a white male, five-foot-seven to five-foot-ten, wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses.

Anyone with information on any of these robberies is asked to contact the Manchester Police Department at 668-8711. Anonymous tips for cash rewards can be made through Manchester Crimeline at 624-4040 or online at manchestercrimeline.org.
