Somersworth man indicted for sexually assaulting girl


DOVER – A Somersworth man could spend the rest of his life in prison for the alleged 2012 sexual assault of a girl who was 7 at the time.

On May 15, a grand jury handed up indictments against Faustino Brito, 54, of 225 Main St., Apt. 14, Somersworth, for two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault of a girl, now 9, between Aug. 1, 2012, and Sept. 26, 2012, in Somersworth.

Brito will be arraigned May 29 in Strafford County Superior Court at 9 a.m.

Each count of aggravated felonious sexual assault is a special felony, if convicted Brito could be sentenced to 10-20 years in prison and a $4,000 fine.
