DOVER — A Durham man was indicted on sexual assault and burglary charges earlier this month
Kewei Chen, 18, of 41 Saratoga Circle, was charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault, burglary and attempted burglary stemming from three different incidents in Dover.
According to the indictments, which the grand jury handed up May 15, Chen allegedly sexually assaulted a woman “through concealment of by the element of surprise” between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31.
Chen also allegedly entered a University of New Hampshire dorm room of woman on March 20 “to commit the crime of theft” and attempted to return to the same room two days later, according to the indictments.
Chen is scheduled to appear for an arraignment May 29 at 9 a.m.
As aggravated felonious sexual assault is a special felony, it could yield up to 10-20 years in prison and a $4,000 fine. Burglary and attempted burglary are both Class A felonies, which could each result in up to 7½ to 15 years in prison and a $4,000 fine, if convicted.
