Three remain hospitalized after Sunday crash in Hooksett

HOOKSETT — The two men who were airlifted following a head-on crash in Hooksett early Sunday remain hospitalized in Boston.

Ryan Dawson, 31, of Chichester is in fair condition at Massachusetts General Hospital, while 70-year-old John Wayne Beard of Little Rock, Ark., is in serious condition at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, according to hospital officials.

A passenger in Beard’s vehicle, 67-year-old Gloria Jean Beard, was transported to Concord Hospital, where she remains in good condition.

A preliminary investigation indicated that Dawson may have crossed the double yellow line in his black Saab and collided with Beard’s Chevy HHR.

The accident, which occurred around 5:22 a.m. Sunday, closed Hooksett Road north of College Park Drive for nearly five hours.

The New Hampshire State Police Accident Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the circumstances associated with the crash.
