Local eateries will compete May 30 for Milford bragging rights in 'Taste of Milford'
MILFORD — The Milford Oval will be the setting for the fifth annual A Taste of Milford on Friday, May 30, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Visitors can stroll from shop to shop to sample some of the best food the area has to offer and then cast their ballots for the best entrée, dessert and presentation and receive a goody bag.
More than 25 local restaurants, caterers, specialty stores and cottage gourmet food businesses will serve up their best dishes while businesses on the oval will stay open late to allow browsing. Three live bands will perform.
Offerings will include grilled steak tips from Two Happy Butchers, lobster rolls from Fuzzies Deli and Ice Cream, quesadillas from Amigos. Chapanga’s will serve up its popular spinach and artichoke dip.
Clark’s Tavern, Red Arrow Diner, Papa Joe’s, Humble Pie, Giorgios, Pasta Loft, Jake Dragon, Café on the Oval and Yankee Chef will serve their best specialties, while Foodies will offer its many varieties of award-winning pizza.
Francestown Village Foods will offer a variety of dishes while Milford Goat Dairy and Mont Vernon General Store will provide the best cheeses available in the valley.
Dessert samples will be offered by Carole’s Cake Creations, Earthlings Baked Goods, Fuzzies Ice Cream, Noni’s Homemade Toffee, Serve N Swirl, Maple Lane Farm, Jake’s Ice Cream, Café on the Oval and Windows on West Street.
The culinary arts program at Milford High School will also participate. Coffee will be provided by the soon-to-open Union Coffee House, and JM Princewell will offer specialty teas.
Tickets are available in advanced for $25 and can be purchased online at milfordimprovmentteam.org or at Constable Agency on the Oval or call 249-0676 or mailing a check to MIT, 39 Nashua St., Milford 03055. Tickets the night of the event are $30, but have sold out in the past few years.
The Taste of Milford is organized by the Milford Improvement Team and hosts include: Steele Associates Accountants, Son’s Chimney, Town of Milford, The Constable Agency, Hometown Insurance, Karin’s Kollectibles, The Garden Party, JM Princewell, Flip Décor, Wireless Zone, Cardoza Flooring, Souhegan Cycleworks and The Frame Shop.
