Four people arrested after alleged Nashua gas station robbery


NASHUA — Four people have been arrested in connection with an alleged armed gas station robbery Thursday.

Anthony Alvarez, 18, of 25 Mount Vernon St., Fitchburg, Mass.; Jahnyi Morel, 19, of 142 Hazel St., Fitchburg, Mass.; Devonta Searcy, 21, of 272 South St., Fitchburg, Mass. and Kayli Hoff-Shine, 18, of 90 N. End Road, Townsend, Mass., were arrested Friday.

Alvarez, Morel and Searcy were each charged with one count of robbery, a class A felony. Hoff-Shine was charged with a count of criminal liability for the conduct of another to robbery, a class A felony.

The robbery reportedly occurred at the Shell gas station at 190 Amherst St. Thursday night. According to police, a gas station employee reported that three males entered the station with knives and demanded money and merchandise.

The three suspects left the station with an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise, police said. The employee was not injured.Shortly after the robbery was reported, three suspects matching the gas station clerk’s description were spotted in the area of Amherst Street. The suspects were arrested shortly after midnight Friday and were identified as Alvarez, Morel and Searcy. Hoff-Shine was the driver of the vehicle allegedly used to leave the scene of the robbery.All four will be arraigned at the 9th Circuit Court-District Division-Nashua. The date of the arraignment was not released.
