Route 3A head-on collision kills Manchester driver, 69

HOOKSETT — One person is dead and another remains in critical condition as a result of injuries sustained in a head-on collision that closed Route 3A Sunday.

The crash occurred around 6:35 p.m. just south of Hackett Hill Road. Both drivers of the two vehicles involved in the accident were transported to area hospitals.
Roosevelt Fraga, 69, of Manchester, was taken to Elliot Hospital where the driver later died of injuries. Ashley Louis, 20, of Concord was taken to Catholic Medical Center, where police said she is being treated for serious injuries.

Route 3A (West River Road) was closed for several hours because of the crash. Traffic was detoured while the New Hampshire State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit analyzed the scene and circumstances of the accident, which remains under investigation.
