Police ask for help in reported assault on Merrimack child

— A 9-year-old Merrimack girl told her mother a dark-skinned man wearing dark clothing grabbed her and pulled her into a garage Tuesday afternoon when she was playing in a neighbor’s yard in the Maidstone Drive area.

The child told her mother she was playing when a man came out from behind a garage, pulled her into it and closed the door. She was not injured and was not sexually assaulted, police said.

The man did not say anything, according to police, and the child offered no further description.

Police are asking for the public’s help. Anyone who saw a person fitting the description in the Maidstone Drive area are asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 603-424-3774, Merrimack Crimeline at 603-424-2424, or submit a tip online at merrimackcrimeline.org.
