AMHERST — The Most Reverend Brian R. Marsh, bishop ordinary of the Diocese of the Northeast of the Anglican Church in America, has announce the appointment of Rev. Dr. Alexander Henderson Webb of St. Luke’s Church as canon to the ordinary.

In his new position, Webb will continue as rector of St. Luke’s in addition to performing special projects for Bishop Marsh.

Webb is being recognized for his contributions to the diocese and the growth of St. Luke’s.

Webb will stand down from his position as dean of academics at Logos House, which is the Anglican Seminary located in Maine, in order to take on these new responsibilities.

The Anglican Church in America is a constituent member of the Traditional Anglican Communion, an offshoot of the Church of England.

It differs from the Episcopal Church in that it offers traditional worship using the 1928 Book of Common Prayer.

The church is located at 3 Limbo Lane.
