Merchants’ Dizillo pitches no-hitter

Anthony Dizillo pitched a no-hitter, striking out 13, in Merchants’ 11-0 victory over Tom’s Fisher Cats in recent of Manchester North Little League.

Dizillo, 11, allowed one base runner, who reached on an error. Offensively, Sam Flurey led Merchants with three hits, and Mitch Feren, Michael Dupre and Dizillo chipped in with two apiece.

It was Dizillo’s first career no-hitter and the first at North this year.

Manchester East

Betterforms 9, Hanover Hill Healthcare 6: Jamison Reilly led Betterforms to a rain-shortened comeback victory. He struck out eight in his four innings and cracked three hits, with a run scored and an RBI. Louis Rosenthall and Andrew Canotas each scored twice in Betterforms’ nine-run fourth inning.

For Betterforms, Andrew Canotas had a two-run triple and scored a run, and Eric Favreau had a run-scoring hit and scored a run.

HHH was led by Brendan Jordan, who contributed a double and triple and scored twice. Jakob Prive fanned 10 in four innings.Betterforms 16, JRO 2: Leadoff batter Louis Rosenthall did a great job setting the table, collecting two hits and three walks, and scored five runs. Eric Favreau had a single, double and triple, for four runs batted in.

Bryce Cote struck out 13 in 6 2/3 innings for his second win of the year. Cote has 25 strikeouts in his last two starts in just 12 innings.

Catherine Jones scored twice.

For JRO, James Carpenter had two hits, with an RBI, and a run scored.
