Inmate who walked away from halfway house Friday night taken into custody by state police

HOUSE

CONCORD - A Nashua man who reportedly walked away from a Manchester halfway house Friday evening was taken into custody by state police late Friday night, state Department of Corrections spokesman Jeffrey Lyons said.

Robert House, 22, was returned to the state prison after being reported as a walkaway from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit about 9:30 p.m. Friday. Lyons said late Saturday that he didn't know what time House was picked up by police Friday night.

Lyons said House, serving a sentence of 18 months to 3 years on a conviction of selling, possessing and manufacturing heroin, likely will be charged with escape.

He was placed on "walkaway" status at 9:30 p.m. Friday, the release said.

He is described as white, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 175 pounds. He is serving a sentence of 18 months to 3 years on a conviction of selling, possessing and manufacturing heroin. He was admitted to the state prison on Sept. 9.

Anyone with information is asked to call local police or the state prison at 271-1801.
