HUDSON — A Nashua mother and her infant son weren’t injured after their vehicle collided with a speeding ambulance on Lowell Road Monday morning.
Gabriella Mastantuono, 27, and her son were traveling southbound near the Winnhaven Drive intersection shortly before 10:30 a.m. when the collision occurred.
According to Hudson police Sgt. Joseph Hoebeke, the ambulance, which had activated its sirens and emergency lights, was responding to a medical emergency on Winnhaven Drive at the time of the incident.
The ambulance, with two staff members from the Hudson Fire Department aboard, was attempting to make a right turn onto Winnhaven Drive when Mastantuono’s silver 2008 Mazda 6 collided with the ambulance’s right side.
Hoebeke said both vehicles sustained moderate damage, though no one was injured.
“Passenger and child restraints were worn by all parties at the time the collision occurred,” he said.
The collision remains under investigation by the Hudson police Patrol Division.
