Salem to begin reconstruction of Shannon Road Bridge
On Monday night, selectmen accepted a $91,517.86 reimbursement from the state for the costs of the completed design and engineering work for the bridge project.
The state funds for the completed bridge design and engineering will go into the town’s unreserved fund balance, according to McBride.
The project will include the full replacement of the bridge’s metal pipe arch structure with a precast concrete rigid frame structure. In addition to the bridge reconstruction, there will also be reconstruction of the roadway near the bridge.
