Nashua mother and child unharmed in ambulance crash in Hudson
HUDSON -- A Nashua mother and her infant son escaped injury when their vehicle collided with a speeding ambulance on Lowell Road Monday morning.
Gabriella Mastantuono, 27, and her son were traveling southbound near the Winnhaven Drive intersection shortly before 10:30 a.m. when the collision occurred, police said.
According to Hudson Sgt. Joseph Hoebeke, the ambulance, which had activated its sirens and emergency lights, was responding to a medical emergency on Winnhaven Drive.
Two staff members from the Hudson Fire Department were attempting to make a right turn onto that road when Mastantuono's silver 2008 Mazda 6 collided with the ambulance's right side.
Hoebeke said both vehicles sustained moderate damage, though no one was injured.
"Passenger and child restraints were worn by all parties at the time the collision occurred," he said.
The collision remains under investigation.
