Hearing for Goffstown townhouse project moved to July
GOFFSTOWN — The rehearing for a townhouse project on Roy Street has been continued for another month.
Applicants GPS Properties decided to continue the hearing to July because a quorum was not present to review the case at the last ZBA meeting.
GPS and property owners Gary and Melissa Pronovost received a special exemption to allow demolition of a single-family house and construction of the seven-unit townhouse in March but abutters petitioned for a rehearing to present new evidence. Abutters also said the deliberations did not examine density information critical to the character of the neighborhood.
The applicant’s attorney Andrew Sullivan told the board the rehearing was granted without “good reason” as required state statute. Sullivan also argued that the ZBA had all necessary information beforehand and abutters had ample opportunity to do research before the original hearing.
ZBA members maintained that it is at the board’s discretion to hold a rehearing to review, clarify or change a decision.
The rehearing will take place in July.
