Motorcyclist thrown, suffers life threatening injuries in Derry crash
DERRY -- ?A local man suffered multiple life threatening injuries Tuesday night when the motorcycle he was driving struck a car and he was thrown, police said.
Nikloas Luz, 18, of 2 Beaver Road, was first transported by the Derry Fire Department ambulance to Parkland Medical Center and later to Boston Medical Center, police Capt. Vern Thomas said in a news release.
Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Stark Road at 7:21 p.m., Thomas said.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Rockingham Trail and Stark Road, Thomas said. Luz was driving a 1996 CR125 Honda motorcycle eastbound on Rockingham Trail and attempted to cross over to Stark Road, Thomas said.
As he was crossing over, his motorcycle struck the right front end of a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Kenneth Hall, 39, of 68 Adams Pond Road, Derry, that was traveling southbound on Stark, Thomas said.
Stacy Hall, 38 of 68 Adams Pond Road, was a passenger in the Hyundai and suffered minor injuries. Kenneth Hall was not injured, Thomas said.
Stark Road was closed for approximately five hours while the Police Accident Reconstruction Team investigated. Alcohol was not a factor, police said. No charges have been filed on either driver, Thomas said.
The crash continues to be investigated, Thomas said.
