Hollis police searching for art thief after heist at library

HOLLIS — An ocean-themed painting is missing from the Hollis Social Library, where it was to be part of an art exhibit debuting this past Sunday.

Police said artist Alene Sirott-Cope set up the art exhibit late Saturday. When she arrived at the library at 11 a.m. Sunday, she discovered the painting, displayed in a wood 7-by-7-inch frame, was missing.

The painting is valued at $60.

Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to call detectives at 603-465-7637.
