U.S. Marshals credit tips for capture of Fugitive of Week

CONCORD — Members of the U.S. Marshal’s N.H. Joint Fugitive Task Force arrested Marsalis "Mook" Johnson Wednesday morning. Johnson had been named this week’s "Fugitive of the Week" by the task force.

According to a press release, Johnson was wanted on an arrest warrant issued by Manchester police for being a felon in possession of a firearm and reckless conduct with a firearm, as a result of Johnson allegedly shooting a bullet through an apartment wall.

Johnson was arrested at an apartment building on Mammoth Road in Hooksett, according to the release.

Johnson was made the Fugitive of the Week because it was believed by police that he was still in possession of a firearm and was a danger to the community, according to the press release.

Based on tips they received, police learned Johnson might be in the apartment building in Hooksett, and set up surveillance. Hooksett officers saw Johnson leaving the building and arrested him without incident, the release said. He was unarmed at the time of his arrest, officials said.

Johnson was transferred to Manchester, where he was awaiting his initial court appearance.
