Goffstown board OKs Dunkin' Donuts, gas station
GOFFSTOWN — The Planning Board approved a new Dunkin' Donuts project for Goffstown Back Road and Tower Lane.
Applicant Jack Nasr and owners Tower Growth Partners, LLC received the required conditional use permits to build a 4,500-square-foot gas station and convenience store on Goffstown Back Road and Tower Lane. The project includes a Dunkin' Donuts with drive-through service.
Tower Lane is a private road maintained by the owner, but the town expects it to become a public road in the future. Members discussed how future proposed developments would be affected by the situations.
“You can’t make these multiple private agreements as we leap frog down Tower Lane,” said Planning Board Member Collis Adams.
The proposed hours of operation became a slight sticking point, with the applicants requesting 4:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Planning Board Chairman Barbara Griffin recommended keeping the hours of operation between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. with no deliveries during off-hours.
Nasr said it would be difficult to keep deliveries within those hours. In 25 years in the business he’s never had a noise complaint because trucks shut down during delivery, he said. Fuel deliveries will only occur once a week, he added.
“It will take him 10 minutes to drop the fuel and he’ll be on his way,” Nasr said.
The donuts would arrive daily around 3 a.m., he said.
The Board set full site operation hours from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. with 30 minutes pre- and post-operation to allow employees to set up in the morning and break down in the evening with no delivery restrictions, pending review.
The site is required to have enough landscaping to protect abutters from headlights. No one from the public spoke for or against the project.
