Manchester 7-Eleven store for sale

June 13. 2014 12:27AM

MANCHESTER — 7-Eleven Inc., said it is selling its convenience store at 111 Webster St., meaning North End customers will have to look elsewhere for their Slurpees.

“This is a great site that simply does not fit 7-Eleven’s current business model,” Robbie Radant, 7-Eleven vice president of mergers and acquisitions, said in a statement. “This store has solid merchandise and gasoline sales and should provide a good opportunity for the right buyer.”

The property, which is being sold without 7-Eleven branding, has a lease that expires in 2020 with one five-year option remaining. Bids are due July 29.

Spokesman Margaret Chabris, in an e-mail, didn’t provide a specific reason for the sale.

“Some locations just don’t fit our business model, whether because of size or not in an optimum traffic area, for example,” she said. “It is not unusual for a nearly 8,000-unit retailer to open and close stores as part of its ongoing business.”

New Hampshire is home to 18 7-Elevens, she said.
