LACONIA — Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice hosted a volunteer recognition dinner last month in honor of the many volunteers who have given their time and energy to its programs. Sixty volunteers and staff attended the dinner in Moultonborough.
Pam Littlefield and Martha Horton, both volunteer coordinators for Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice, thanked the volunteers and presented the awards.
Receiving one-year and five-year recognition awards were: David Hayden, Connie Altieri, Mary Frohock, Jean Fournier, Nila Morrison, Charlotte Allen, Lisa Howard, Pamela Maden, David Shea, Patti Murray, Theresa Romano, Robert Shockley, Mary Lou Anderson, Heather Cone, Nan Russell, Carl Gebhardt, Lorraine Gebhardt, Eleanor Hayward and Marie Madeleine Marchand.
“Volunteers provide important services to our hospice and the people they serve. Whether it’s providing companionship to a person in the final months and weeks of life, offering support to family members and caregivers, or helping with community outreach and fundraising, the contributions of volunteers are essential to the important work we provide,” Littlefield said in an emailed news release. “We really can’t thank them enough.”
The nonprofit VNA & Hospice serves the Lakes Region communities in Belknap and southern Carroll counties. It provides home care, including nursing and rehabilitation services; pediatric care, including direct health care and support services for children and families; and a hospice program.
