Derry man charged with assaulting 2 girls

Louie Branco

DERRY — A local man has been charged with sexually assaulting two young girls Sunday night after he allegedly offered to take them to the store in his car to buy candy, Derry police said.

Louie Branco, 52, of 30 Kendall Pond Road lot #80, is charged with two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, class A felonies, Capt. Vern Thomas said in a news release.

Police responded at 10:11 p.m. on Sunday to 30 Kendall Pond Road, a mobile home park, for a report of sexual assault involving two young girls.

Officers investigated the incident and learned that Branco, who lives in the park, allegedly took two girls for a ride in his car, Thomas said.

He reportedly offered to take them to a store to buy candy, Thomas said. On his way to the store, he allegedly pulled over and told the girls to remove their clothes. Branco then allegedly assaulted the girls, Thomas said.

The alleged victims are under the age of 13 and live in the mobile home park.

Branco was arraigned on Monday before the 10th Circuit Court–District Division- Derry. Bail was set at $25,000 cash and he was transferred to Rockingham County Jail. He is scheduled to appear before the court on June 19.

Detectives continue to investigate the alleged incident.
