Coast Guard tows boat back to Portsmouth after it hits rocks at Isle of Shoals
ISLES OF SHOALS — A 56-foot vessel was being towed back to Portsmouth after it became caught on some rocks at the Isle of Shoals Wednesday morning.
U.S. Coast Guard Chief David Andreesen said another "Good Samaritan" boat came to the aid of the Sojourn, a privately owned recreational vessel, and pulled it off the rocks because the Coast Guard's vessel was too large to get close enough.
No one was injured in the incident.
Andreesen said about noon that the Coast Guard was towing the vessel back to Portsmouth, which he expected would take about two hours.
He was not certain exactly where the boat would be docked.
