Church event raises money for Food Bank

MANCHESTER — Dr. Curtis Smith, president of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Manchester, has announced that the church has raised $500 during the “Nothing Can’ fundraising event.

The money was delivered to the NH Food Bank.

More donations are still coming in.

This donation will help provide 2,000 meals to the needy.

Smith said, “I am proud that our church has been involved in this creative way to support a good cause .”

The church has donated 936 pounds of food in 2013, and 416 pounds so far in 2014.

The NH Food Bank serves nearly 400 agencies throughout the state and distributed more than 8 million pounds of food in 2013.
