Inmate from Weare missing from Manchester half-way house
According to New Hampshire Department of Corrections officials, Michael Andrew Matteuzzi, 33, left for work at 10:30 a.m. from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit on Lowell Street and did not return at 10:30 p.m., as scheduled.
Matteuzzi is described as a 5-foot-6 white man weighing 180 pounds, with red/auburn hair and blue eyes. He has tattoos on his left arm, right upper arm, and back.
He was convicted in 2012 in Hillsborough County Superior Court in Manchester for being a habitual offender and is serving a 1- to 3-year sentence. He was admitted to the N.H. State Prison on Aug. 23, 2012 and was eligible for parole on Aug. 22, 2013, but had yet to be approved, according to the Department of Corrections.
The state Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau and state police are investigating.
