BRENTWOOD — A 29-year-old Derry man is facing charges that he allegedly sneaked into a Londonderry woman’s home, stuck a gun in her face and demanded money.

Prosecutors say Joshua Magee demanded to be shown a safe inside the Wilson Road home, but the woman said she only had $20 in cash.

A Rockingham County grand jury indicted Magee on charges of robbery, criminal restraint and burglary.

He could face 10 to 20 years in state prison if he is convicted.

A neighbor of the woman called police when she saw a man, later identified by police as Magee, walking toward her neighbor’s house at 14 Wilson Road.

“The caller heard a woman screaming, and then a male subject was seen running from the house, wearing a mask, goggles and Wal-Mart shopping bags on his feet,” Londonderry police officer Randy Duguay said in a sworn affidavit.

Magee was seen tucking something into his waistband and left the neighborhood driving a gray Saturn, police said.

The homeowner told police that she and her 1½-year-old son were inside the home when the man entered. She was in an upstairs bedroom and her son was downstairs in the living room, police said.

When the woman did not hear her son, “she went downstairs to check on him,” Duguay said in the affidavit, and saw the child run around the corner from the kitchen toward her crying, police said.

“And that’s when she saw a subject holding a pistol pointed at her,” according to Duguay.

The man quickly went rummaging through the house before he fled. Magee was arrested by Derry police a short time later.

His clothing matched the description of witnesses, police said.

He was found to have a loaded handgun in his possession, police said.
