LACONIA — A North Carolina man was seriously injured Sunday when he lost control of the three-wheeled motorcycle he was driving, police said. Horace Joyner, 55, of Rocky Mount, N.C., was southbound on Route 106 near Right Way Path east of Opechee Bay when he rolled the motorcycle onto its side around 1:30 a.m., Laconia Police said.
According to a press release, Joyner exhibited only minor injuries and was taken to Lakes Region General Hospital. Doctors determined Joyner had a serious head injury and he was taken to a hospital in Boston, police said.
Laconia police Sgt. Thomas Swett said there were no updates on Joyner’s condition or the accident Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened nearly 24 hours after another crash killed a Massachusetts man who drove a 2005 Harley-Davidson off of Lakeside Avenue around 1:20 a.m. Saturday.
Sunday was the last day of Laconia’s 91st annual Bike Week, a festival that draws thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from across the country for an extended week of riding throughout New Hampshire and rallying along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee.
