Perkins honored by Ski NH

Thom Perkins of Intervale has been given the lifetime achievement award from Ski NH. The award recognized his contributions to Nordic skiing in New Hampshire.

As the Jackson Ski Touring Foundation executive director since 1976, Perkins was instrumental in transforming the village of Jackson into one of the nation’s premier cross country skiing and snowshoeing venues.

Passionate about the sport of Nordic skiing, Perkins developed the trail system from a modest offering of trails to the present far-reaching network of 150 kilometers. His retirement goals include increasing the number of great cross country ski facilities available to the public andhas started a consulting company.

Andrews appointed director at Camp Spaulding

CONCORD — New Hampshire Child and Family Services, a statewide nonprofit, has named Cassie Andrews, of Norwich, N.Y,. as director of Camp Spaulding in Penacook.

Andrews earned her B.A. in anthropology and women’s studies, and M.S. in mental health counseling from Plattsburgh State University, Plattsburgh, N.Y. She has traveled extensively, having lived in Seoul, Korea, for two years, and has backpacked through southeast Asia. She also was a childhood camper.

Camp Spaulding, established in 1921, serves hundreds of boys and girls ages 8 to 14, from low- to moderate-income families, over four two-week sessions throughout the summer. It is located on 56 acres overlooking the Contoocook River.

Comolli honored by dental society

CONCORD — During its annual meeting at Church Landing in Meredith, the New Hampshire Dental Society recognized Dr. Arthur Comolli with the MacRury Award, the society’s highest award of merit for outstanding contributions in dentistry.

Comolli practiced in Nashua for many years, where he helped mentor many incoming dentists and served as president of the society’s Nashua Component. In addition to serving his local community, he led the society as president, was active on several committees and was a member of the American Dental Association’s Ethics, Bylaws and Judicial Affairs Committee.

Maguire named president of dental society

CONCORDRobert M. Maguire, DDS, was elected president of the New Hampshire Dental Society during its annual meeting at Church Landing in Meredith.

Maguire is a dentist in Wolfeboro, where he has practiced since 1990. After earning his DDS in 1984 from Georgetown University School of Dentistry, he served as a naval dental officer from 1984 to 1987. He also led the Lakes Region component of the N.H. Dental Society as president in 1992 and 2009. Also installed were: Dr. Peter Welnak of Keene as president-elect; Dr. John P. Ahern of Derry as first vice president; Dr. Paul Thompson of Manchester as second vice president; Dr. Glenda Reynolds of New Hampton as secretary/treasurer and Dr. Richard Rosato of Concord as delegate-at-large.

Major joins McLane as network systems engineer

Eric Major has joined the McLane Law Firm as network systems engineer, managing technology for all four of McLane’s offices. He earned his degree in computer information technology from Southern New Hampshire University and previously worked for CNS-Partners and Blue Seal Feeds/Kent Nutrition Group, formerly Muscatine Foods Corp.

He is a resident of Bedford.

McLane has offices in Manchester, Portsmouth and Concord, as well as Woburn, Mass.
