21 minors charged over drinking party

Lyme police charged 21 minors with unlawful possession of alcohol Saturday night after breaking up an underaged drinking party in the parking lot of the Dartmouth Skiway lodge.

All those issued summons were released at the scene to parents or other adults. They are due to appear on the violation-level offense in 2nd Circuit Court District Division in Lebanon Aug. 11.

Police said they noticed a number of vehicles from local towns in the parking lot of the Dartmouth Skiway lodge about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Two minors were medically examined for intoxication at the scene. New Hampshire State Police, Canaan, Hanover and Lebanon police assisted. The investigation is ongoing. If convicted, the minors could each face a maximum $1,000 fine.
