Manchester man arrested for firing gun into the air on Clay Street
MANCHESTER — A West Side man is under arrest, accused of firing a gun into the air during an argument with two women early Saturday morning on Clay Street.
Police said they were called at 2:55 a.m. at 884 Clay St., for a fight in progress. Officers spoke with several witnesses who told them a man fired a "round into the air" during a dispute with two women.
Officers searched the area and located the man, identified as Michael McClain, 24, of 244 Douglas St., near Dix and Taylor streets. Police said McClain appeared to be intoxicated and made several "excited utterances" to implicate himself in the incident.
He was arrested on a felony charge of reckless conduct.
Detectives, the next day, interviewed him and, with his consent, searched his vehicle, finding a handgun and several small bags of marijuana. As a result, he was also charged with possession of a controlled drug.
Police said the women involved in the incident were "not overly cooperative" in the investigation.
