Fire chief says blaze that destroyed Thornton woodshed not suspicious

THORNTON – A fire destroyed a woodshed just after midnight Tuesday at 1724 Route 175.

Crews from the Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue found a large woodshed in flames with fire spreading toward some woods and a nearby home.

Waterville Valley, Woodstock, Plymouth, Holderness, Ashland and Rumney firefighters helped knock down the blaze in about 45 minutes. Crews remained on the scene for another hour, putting out hot spots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it does not appear to be suspicious, according to Fire Chief Daniel Defosses.
