Fishers' Norris to play in Futures Game

Pitcher Daniel Norris will represent the Toronto Blue Jays and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in the 2014 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game.

Norris will travel to Target Field in Minnesota and play for the United States squad.

The game will be played Sunday, July 13, kicking off the MLB All-Star break at Target Field.

The 21-year-old Norris, a lefthander, has made 14 starts this season, all but one with Advanced-A Dunedin in the Florida State League. He compiled a 6-0 mark with Dunedin, posting a league-best 1.62 ERA in more than 65 innings of work.

Norris was promoted to New Hampshire last week and struck out nine batters in a no-decision against Altoona in his Double-A debut at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Norris was New Hampshire’s starting pitcher against the Portland Sea Dogs Tuesday night at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine.
