Two charged with setting Newbury home on fire

NEWBURY — Two people were arrested Wednesday on charges they set their home on fire, according to the state Fire Marshal’s Office and Newbury police.

Douglas McCahon, 58, and Rosemarie Digilio, 47, are accused of purposely setting their Stoney Brook Road home on fire June 9. McCahon was charged with arson and burning without a permit, while Digilio was charged with conspiracy to commit arson, according to a news release.

Max Schultz, assistant state fire marshal, said no one was injured in the blaze.

Authorities have not released a motive behind the alleged arson.
