Police: Man shot in non-random attempted robbery in Laconia

LACONIA — A man told police he was shot Wednesday morning in an attempted robbery at a Harvard Street residence.

The man, who police did not name in a news release, called 911 at 3:23 a.m. to report the shooting.

Officers said the shooting may have taken place at 48 Harvard St. Initial information provided police at the scene was that the shooter fled on foot along Dartmouth Street.

The wounded man was taken by the Laconia Fire Department ambulance to Lakes Region General Hospital, where he is being treated for injuries police describe as not life-threatening.

Police said the shooting was not random.

Anyone with information concerning it is asked to call Laconia Police at 524-5252.
