CONCORD — Additional Turkish businesses have reached out to the New Hampshire delegation during a trade mission to that country, according to Gov. Maggie Hassan.
“My role in this trade mission is to highlight and showcase New Hampshire and New Hampshire businesses,” she said after three days of meetings, noting additional Turkish businesses contacted the delegation after she was interviewed Monday and met with business leaders.
She said she focused on the state’s tax structure, strategic location, workforce development and responsible government and that has opened more doors for companies on the trip.
On a conference call with reporters, Hassan said she has been impressed with Turkey’s vibrant and growing economy, noting it is a very young country.
Tom Blais, of Rokon, a Rochester-based company that manufactures all-wheel-drive motorcycles, said he has been on trade missions with other governors.
“This (trade mission) is better organized than most because of the strong research done beforehand,” he said. “Personally, I’ve had some great meetings.”
The trade mission ends Friday.
