No bail for trio charged in knife, machete murder of Madbury teen

DOVER — Three men were ordered held without bail Thursday, charged with the murder of 18-year-old Aaron Wilkinson, who allegedly was stabbed to death with knives and a machete in front of his Madbury home.

Zachary Pinette, 18, of Springvale, Maine, Michael Tatum, 21, of Barrington and Tristan Wolusky, 18, of Rochester were arraigned on first-degree murder charges in 7th Circuit Court, Dover Division.

Their court appearance came hours after they were arrested Wednesday night for the June 21 killing.

Wilkinson, a former Exeter High School student, was reported missing from his home by his father on Saturday morning. His body was found along a roadside in Lebanon, Maine hours later.

The three suspects, who entered no plea in court Thursday, are facing the possibility of life in jail without parole if they are convicted by a jury.

Prosecutors say that Pinette discussed a plan with Tatum and Wolusky to go to Wilkinson’s home and murder him.

The killing happened around 1:30 a.m. outside of Wilkinson’s home at 36 Evans Road in Madbury, according to court documents.

Pinette is accused of driving Wolusky and Tatum from a location in Maine to Wilkinson’s home, court complaints say. He allegedly was holding a machete while Tatum and Wolusky were armed with knives.

Wilkinson was stabbed to death with all three weapons, prosecutors said.

Senior Assistant Attorney General Jeffery Strelzin said he could not comment about a possible motive.

Wilkinson’s friend, Chris Cote, 19, of Dover, said he knew the three suspects and believes the murder came down to a matter of jealously over a girlfriend.

Cote set up a roadside vigil in Lebanon, Maine for Wilkinson that has drawn several of Wilkinson’s friends from around the region.

A probable cause hearing for the trio is set for July 14.
