Paradis fourth in N.E. golf

While the New Hampshire Golf Association Junior Championship was getting underway in Salem on Monday, Manchester High School Central’s Matt Paradis was driving, chipping and putting his was to a fourth-place finish in the single-round New England Interscholastic Boys’ Golf Championships on the North Course at Bretwood Country Club in Keene.

Paradis, who finished second in last year’s NHGA Junior, carded a 1-under-par 71, finishing two strokes back of winner Evan Grenus of Glastonbury (Conn.) High, and tied with Troy Evans of Spaulding (Barre, Vt.) High.

Indiana Jones of Alton’s Prospect Mountain High was the top New Hampshire finisher in the girls’ tournament, placing 15th with a round of 84. Catherine French of Shepherd Hill Regional in Dudley, Mass., won the regional championship by three strokes with a score of 72.
