NH Fisher Cats beat New Britain, 6-2, to improve to 4-5

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats defeated the New Britain Rock Cats at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium Saturday night, 6-2, thanks to solid pitching and timely hitting.

Richard Bleier earned the win on the mound for New Hampshire to improve to 4-5 on the season. Over 5 1/3 innings, Bleier allowed five hits and two runs. Josh Anderson recorded the save, pitching 2 1/3 innings and giving up just one hit while striking out two.

The Fisher Cats scored three runs in both the third and seventh innings.

In the third, Jon Berti had the big hit with a two-run single, while in the seventh Matt Newman had a two-run double for the Fisher Cats.

Berti and catcher Derrick Chung had two hits apiece for New Hampshire.

The Fisher Cats and Rock Cats will conclude their series today at 1:35 p.m.
