NH rolls in Twin State field hockey

Derryfield School of Manchester's Colbi Vaillancourt scored a pair of goals to help New Hampshire past Vermont 6-1 in Friday night's Twin State Field Hockey Classic at Castleton State University.

Vaillancourt scored in a 55-second span in the second half to pump New Hampshire's lead from 2-1 to 4-1. Winnacunnet of Hampton's Elisabeth Auffant and Kingswood of Wolfeboro's Rachel Lapar assisted the goals.

The other New Hampshire markers were scored by Hollis/Brookline's Sydney MacLeod, Hopkinton's Brittany Marshall, Goffstown's Hannah Gifford (from Salem's Erika Smith) and Newfound of Bristol's Amber Plummer (from Merrimack Valley of Concord's Erin Frost). NH outshot Vermont, 27-2.

New Hampshire's goalies, Windham's Kelsey Federico and Winnisquam of Tilton's Kendra Lonergan, had one save each.

Seventeen of the nineteen players from the New Hampshire team will be going on to play in college.
