Iginla heads to Avs; Canucks get Miller

The Colorado Avalanche picked up two veterans on Tuesday, acquiring defenseman Brad Stuart from the San Jose Sharks and landing veteran Jarome Iginla as a free agent.

The Sharks received a second-round pick in 2016 and a sixth-rounder in 2017 in exchange for Stuart.

The 34-year-old Stuart had three goals and 11 points in 61 games for the Sharks last season.

Iginla signed a three-year contract worth a reported $16 million with the Avalanche. The 37-year-old led the Bruins during the regular season with 30 goals, but the Bruins could not work out a deal. Iginla has scored 30 or more goals in every season since 1999-2000 ...
