NH weighs in on best, worst Presidents
“I don’t know enough about the earlier Presidents,” Matthews said. “There’s a lot to choose from.”
“Reagan was for prosperity,” Hubbard said. “Obama just walks over the Constitution.”
Hubbard said it’s interesting how history will view past presidencies.
“Kennedy did a lot to ease racial tensions,” Hubbard said. “Obama’s seems to be doing a lot to make things worse.”
“My life was better under George W. Bush,” Giglio said, adding he doesn’t believe George W. Bush deserves to be rated so poorly.
Giglio agrees Reagan remains the best for his policies of small government and individualism.
John MacLean, of Dover, disagreed with the poll’s findings.
“I think the biggest objection is Reagan (as the best) because he set the groundwork for the income disparity we see today,” MacLean said, adding he also feels Clinton was the best of the bunch.
Dover resident Jason Trump disagreed with the results.
“I would say Reagan was better than Obama,” said Jason Trump, of Dover. “I would say Bill Clinton was the best.”
Trump said George H.W. Bush had bad policies which were continued by his son, George W. Bush. He added Clinton did a lot for America.
Age, experience and perspective play major parts in opinion.
“Of the Republicans, I’d pick Ike (Eisenhower), and of the Democrats, I’d pick Clinton,” said Sharon Reynolds, of Dover.
