Weather warnings push fireworks to Saturday in Rochester

ROCHESTER – As heavy rains, damaging winds and thunderstorms threaten the region, organizers of the annual Night Before the 4th festivities felt it prudent to reschedule them for Saturday.

Members of the Journey Baptist Church, which have been organizing the event for the past six years, and the Rochester Fairgrounds invite area residents to enjoy a variety of activities at the Rochester Fair Grounds - 72 Lafayette St.

Admission comes with the donation of a non-perishable food item.

While fireworks will be launched after dusk, the celebration is scheduled from 5 to 10 p.m.

Saturday's forecast predicts mostly clear conditions with a high of 78 and low of 56 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
