Flynn leads Sweeney Post past Bedford

Nolan Flynn allowed six hits and no walks to lead Sweeney Post of Manchester to an 8-2 American Legion baseball victory over host Bedford at Riley Field Monday. Rain shortened the game to seven innings.

Sweeney raised its record to 10-3. Bedford dropped to 7-4.

Sweeney tied the game in the fourth inning on a solo homer by Connor Walsh. Sweeney added three runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by an RBI double by Aaron Mersereau and an RBI single from Danny O’Connor.

Flynn drove in a run in the sixth frame with a single.

Run-scoring hits by Kevin Gonzales and Cody Bassett closed out the scoring in the seventh inning befor rain stopped the game.

Sweeney travels to Laconia on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game.
