Court grants Manchester police OK for federally-funded sobriety roadblock

July 08. 2014 1:55PM

MANCHESTER — As part of an ongoing effort to deter drinking and driving, and to prevent accidents, the Manchester Police Department applied for and was granted a superior court petition to conduct a sobriety checkpoint Friday and Saturday.

The program provides federal highway funds to support the checkpoints, whose goal is the reduction of alcohol-fueled motor vehicle accidents, resulting in injuries and deaths.
