Man assaults Rochester store employee, makes off with sack of stolen items

ROCHESTER – Police are looking for a young man who assaulted an employee at the Route 108 Rite Aid Monday evening.

Police responded at 6:58 p.m. after employees reported than a man entered the Rite Aid at 190 Wakefield St. – Route 108 – with a bag, which he filled with "numerous items throughout the store." As he attempted to leave, an employee confronted the man, who assaulted the employee before running off with the bag full of stolen items, according to police.

He did not appear to be armed, according to police.

The man – who was described as white, about 18-21 years old, approximately 5-foot 6-inches tall, of a skinny build, with an unshaven face, dark hair and he was wearing a maroon t-shirt with plaid shorts, according to police.
