Nashua man's condition upgraded after Hudson bicycle-car collision

HUDSON — Police say a Nashua man was riding an electric-assist bicycle against traffic when he ran a red light at the intersection of Flagstone Drive and Wason Road and collided with a car traveling east on Flagstone Drive shortly before noon Monday.

James Landry, 47, was thrown from his bike when he hit the left front of Alisha McCoy's car. Landry, who was not wearing a helmet, struck his head on the pavement and was transported first to Southern Regional Medical Center in Nashua and later transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital. He was initially listed in critical condition, but a Mass General Hospital spokesman said Tuesday that his condition has been upgraded to serious.

Police said McCoy, 30, of Nashua, had a green light and the right of way and her speed was not a factor in the collision. Police were unable to determine the speed of Landry's bicycle at the time of the collision.
