Goffstown tops Bedford in LL tourney

Goffstown beat Bedford, 18-8, in the Little League District I All-Stars winners’ bracket final on Tuesday night at Manchester Central Little League’s Harris Field.

The game was shortened to four innings because of the 10-run rule.

Goffstown, trailing 8-4, scored 14 runs in the top of the fourth inning to put the game away.

Derek Steckowych hit a grand slam and a single for Goffstown. He also did a two-inning stint on the mound. Connor Hujsak had a solo homer and Bobby Doherty had three singles and a walk for Goffstown.

Nick Douidi hit a solo homer and Connor Murray had two singles for Bedford.

Goffstown advanced to Saturday’s 1 p.m. final back at Manchester Central. Bedford plays Thursday against either Manchester East or Salem in the losers’ bracket final.
