Family center in Nashua offers workshop, play date

NASHUA - The Family Resource Center of Greater Nashua is offering parents of children under age 5 an opportunity to discuss the joys and challenges of parenting during a workshop series, "Nurturing Parenting," which is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, July 15 through Aug. 19, at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, 47 Grand Ave.

Lori Fowler of Prevention Makes Cents and Stacey Beeley of Child and Family Services will present the program.

The center also is inviting parents of infants to children up to age 5 to its Ultimate Free Play Date program.

On Tuesday, the play group will move outdoors to the Sargent Avenue Playground and Centennial Playground Pool, which is at the corner of Manchester Street and Sargent Avenue. The free sessions go from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Parents should bring swimming supplies, including sunscreen, and are responsible for full supervision of their children at the playground and pool.

Beeley will oversee the play date. For more information about the play date or to preregister, which is advised, email her at beeleys@cfsnh.org.

For information about either program or to register, parents also may email FRCNashuaPrograms@gmail.com, specifying "Ultimate Free Play Date" or "Nurturing Parenting." To register online, go to http://goo.gl/EFOUxE.

Complimentary child care will be available during the workshop series. To make advance child care arrangements, call Janail at 883-0523 ext. 225. Program information also is available at that number.
