New Hampshire’s preliminary seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for June 2014 was 4.4 percent, unchanged from the May rate.
The June 2013 rate was 5.2 percent, New Hampshire Employment Security reported Tuesday.
Estimates for June 2014 placed the number of employed residents at 713,390, a decrease of 1,220 from the previous month and an increase of 10,280 from a year ago.
The number of unemployed residents decreased by 340 over the month to 32,450, about 6,310 fewer unemployed than in June 2013. From May 2014 to June 2014, the total labor force decreased by 1,560 to 745,840, an increase of 3,970 from June 2013.
Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for June 2014 was 6.1 percent, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from the May rate, and a decrease of 1.4 percentage points from the June 2013 rate.
