NEdocs wins third straight Manchester Girls Softball League title
New England Document Systems (NEdocs) won its third straight Manchester Girls Softball League Senior Championship with a two-game sweep against Angela’s Pasta, winning 29-8 and 8-4.
Angela’s Pasta advanced to the championship round with a two-game sweep against Godzyk Realty, winning 26-8 and 10-6. NEdocs had a bye into the championship series.In the first game of the championship series, NEdocs was led offensively by Brianna Ingemi, Kate Aiken, Alyson King, Stephanie Shangraw, Katelyn Larochelle, Kailee Brace, Paige King, Emily Lamontagne and Jennifer Rothwell.
Pitcher Julie Camire had nine strikeouts in the win, with Andrea Walter playing well behind the plate.Heather Mak, Rylee Ducharme, Abby Yerrington, Maddison Leavitt, Claudia Mak, Stephanie Morrill and Kiara Roberge led Angela’s Pasta in Game 1.
In Game 2 of the championship series, NEdocs was led by Aiken, Ingemi, Camire (six strikeouts on the mound), Larochelle, Stephanie Shangraw, Kiara Roberge and Maddison Leavitt.
Ducharme (six strikeouts) pitched well for Angela’s, backed by solid defense from catcher Taylor Mara and first baseman Abbey Conrad, who turned in an unassisted double play.
Angela’s offense was led by Ducharme’s inside-the-park home run, as well as a triple by Lily O’Connell.
Championship game MVP awards went to Camire for NEdocs, and Mara for Angela’s Pasta.
